Great stuff, that was really interesting, thank you for sharing your experience We've on more or less the same timeline and I too listened to Farrah's incredibly useful sessions. You're way ahead thought with your amazingly consistently posts and sticking to a plan which is brilliant, keep it up! Very best of luck with reaching the next goal 😃

Thank you so much for listening and your kind feedback, Sue! It's a lot to juggle at the start I think, the doing––the actual writing of the newsletters, and the plan to make sure your words get read more widely. I hope talking about it and sharing our experience helps. It certainly helps me!

Commenting on the First episode which doesn't seem to be here ... I've honestly listened to this about 3 times. So, as you know I have finally launched the thing so just popping in here for accountability. 🌻 Will say more about Episode 2 when I've listened to it again. Wanted you to know how instrumental your podcast with Helen has been in getting me going and definitely want to be part of the journey 🌺 Thanks lovely ladies 🌻

Thank you, Sharon ❤️ I think that kind of reaction is what we both hoped for when we started this. That we could help and connect with other people feeling their way through setting up and growing a presence on Substack. The fact that episode one isn’t on my Substack is an excellent example of us figuring it out as we go along. 😂 Initially we couldn’t work out how to publish from both accounts so I just cross-posted from Helen’s! We’ve (hopefully!) got that sussed now! Anyway really glad you are finding our chats helpful. I always do! x

Job done then I'd say! 💪 There IS a lot to get your head round though ... but it feels really fun to be going on this adventure with you. Will be mentioning it in my Friday newsletter tomorrow to go out to my normal email list, will be interesting to see how many subscribe from there. I think with Substack it does tend to attract the right kind of people though as you do have to put more time into reading - so I actually would quite like just a small number of lovely engaged folks. 🌻

So glad you enjoyed it! It’s really helpful for us two to have this conversation out loud and it’s great if that resonates with others too ❤️

Hmm, interesting. Only 2 subscribers from my normal email list so far following my regular Friday email to them today 🤔but that's OK as I'm looking to attract a slightly different audience. Or maybe people just not used to Substack? Who knows? Who am I kidding... I'm a bit disappointed 😢On the upside I have had people subscribe directly from Substack this week 🌺

Sending a hug! Been there (frequently!)––feeling disappointed that a newsletter doesn't lead to the response you'd hoped is very understandable. It's not either/or. I think you can be proud and a little disappointed. It's very early days yet, your newsletter will only have been out a few hours, so hopefully more will come across to check out Substack. And you will absolutely grow within the Substack network too––it's great that you're seeing that already. In short, big hug, totally get it ... but also be proud of getting up and running and building a presence within the community here xx

I know .. I know. On the plus side I have had lots of replies to the email itself which was about my first therapy visit. People are kind. I’m going to write a bit more about that on Substack over the weekend. Accountability again here Claire 😜

Oh this is lovely, Luisa - I'm glad I've gone for a run in the woods today! I know what you mean about missing the more hustley days. I miss them and have to keep reminding myself that it's not a good long-term strategy for me.

Really interesting reflections Luisa, and look forward to watching you working through those lovely goals. I'm really loving how much you put into Substack in lieu of the other SM platforms. I can see that the content to consume here is so much more nourishing. Hats off for your IG avoidance. And thank you for the walk in the woods today! x

I definitely agree with getting rid of the heart button. I stopped using it awhile back. Instead, I leave comments. That was one of my biggest gripes just before I left Instagram - so many just resorted to emojis and hearts instead of actual words. Be the change you wanna see, right?

Absolutely! It's really freeing to move away from that, and like you say if they didn't exist at all people would perhaps use comments to engage more. Thanks for listening!
