Jane Austen and Samuel West, Cher Horowitz, and Maria dancing with the Captain? What a lovely gift to improve our weekends. Thank you!

(And this reminds me that although I've seen all of Inspector Lewis and Endeavor, I've never actually watched (or read) Inspector Morse. He may have to wait until after the Year of Jane, however.)

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Julie! You've made my day. Very glad you enjoyed it, as ever a lot of fun to assemble this ecclectic mix in one newsletter!

Definitely understand that Jane takes precedence over Morse this year! 😂 The books start off very 1970s old school detective, but my understanding is that Colin Dexter actually changed how he wrote them to embody John Thaw's (brilliant) TV portrayal. A rare instance where watching might be preferable to reading (and you then get the lovely privilege of young Lewis in action too!). I bet it hits different to watch Morse after Endeavour actually. Let me know if you do and what you think 💛

I absolutely will let you know. And I'm delighted to have made your day!

I've been blogging (not so different from Substacking, after all) for 17 years. I'm a professional organizer, so I blog about productivity and organizing, but I always try to weave tangentially related pop culture references into my posts, so I love it when someone (like you!!!) creates a rich tapestry of culture of all types into one cohesive post! (Also, Samuel West is yummy, so thanks for that!)

An icon to be celebrated in your own right (and not as old as Bagpuss! 😂) What an incredible year! 🥳
