I didn't leave my house! I'm the type that likes to stay at home whenever I don't have to. I've read Emma, started hidden figures and watched the newest episode of sort your life out.

Ooh, I had no idea GWA had a Substack. I recently read the book and thought it was brilliant. Certain things definitely frustrated me. So recommended!

Otherwise, I started reading Stolen Focus by Johann Hari which is brilliant! Just read the chapters on the Big Tech this morning and I am totally mortified, even though, subconsciously, I already knew the things. Worth a read!

Oh, and we discovered another Iranian director: Abbas Kiarostami. His style is unusual but explores interesting themes.

Started a fiction book to balance out all the heavy stuff too haha. A Taylor Jenkins Reid book: Maybe in Another Life. Also, eagerly waiting for the Daisy Jones and The Six TV to hit Prime in March. Loved that book!

P.S. Glad you two had a restorative week. Sounds like you got just what you needed! :)

Another great 'What This Week', Claire!

I've been reading some stuff for research - really interesting, but different to my usual fare.

As far as what I'm watching is concerned, I'm impatient for the Next Big Thing (no - that's not a title - I'm just frustrated that there's nothing around that will replace Happy Valley/Line of Duty/THOSE kinds of things right now), but we watched the gripping delight of 'True Spirit', the film about teenage Australian sailor Jessica Watson and really enjoyed it. It was wonderful and deeply moving from start to finish - we got through half a box of tissues! Excellent family viewing, not that I have a family, but I'd recommend it.

I wish I'd gone for some walks this week, but I haven't made it outside apart from for work! It's not too late, I suppose - the sun is shining out there and spring is doing its stuff. Oh look: that's my Sunday afternoon planned right there.... thanks for the inspiration! 🤣
